Help Us Contact You
GSRA is an all volunteer organization with a very small budget. In order to quickly communicate with our members, we rely heavily on electronic communication methods, such as this website and e-mails.
In reviewing our latest e-mail distribution, we noticed several things that caused some e-mails to be returned as undeliverable or blocked from final delivery. Here are some things you can do to help ensure you continue to receive information from GSRA.
1 - Are you using Earthlink or Mindspring for e-mail?
If you are using Earthlink or Mindspring, make sure you have included Webmaster@myGSRA.com in your address book so that our e-mails will get through to you. If you do not include us, messages from us are blocked. You may have previously included us under our old e-mail address, but you will need to add our new address.
2 - Have you changed e-mail addresses or providers?
When your e-mail address changes please update your Profile on myGSRA.com. You should change both your e-mail address and your User Name. GSRA recommends that members use their e-mail address as their User Name.
3 - Are you not getting e-mails from GSRA? (Part 1)
If you are not getting e-mails from us it may be because you have messages from us blocked or treated as SPAM. Some e-mail software moves incoming mail from unrecognized senders to a SPAM or Junk Mail folder. Check these folders. If you find mail from Webmaster@myGSRA.com in these folders, please add us to your list of approved senders.
You can check to make sure our mail will get though by sending a test message to Webmaster@myGSRA.com with the words "Test Message" in the Subject line and body of the message. Make sure you send this message from the e-mail account you want to have associated with your membership at myGSRA.com. You should receive an automatic reply message within 5 minutes. Other than the automated response, we will not respond to these messages; they are for you to use in testing your SPAM filters.
4 - Are you not getting e-mails from GSRA? (Part 2)
If you have not gotten an e-mail from us since November 1, 2007 and you have verified that our messages are not being blocked as SPAM or Junk Mail, it may be because we have an obsolete or inaccurate e-mail address for you. Please verify that we have a correct e-mail address for you by checking and updating your Profile on myGSRA.com. If the one on file is incorrect, please change it.
If your e-mail address in your Profile is correct, or if you cannot login to myGSRA.com, send a test message to Webmaster@myGSRA.com with the words "E-mail Help" in the Subject line and your full name in the body of the message. Make sure you send this message from the e-mail account you want to have associated with your membership at myGSRA.com. You should receive an automatic reply message within 5 minutes.
One of our volunteer webmasters will respond to your e-mail by updating your Profile. We will include your sending e-mail address as your new User Name and e-mail address. Please, make sure you have exhausted all other measures before resorting to this approach. There is no way we can possible respond to thousands of requests.
5 - Are you using a State of Georgia e-mail address?
Please do not use a State of Georgia or State agency e-mail address for your GSRA e-mail address. In many agencies, it is considered inappropriate to use State resources to receive personal e-mails. We would like to avoid any future problems for you or the Association.
We strongly encourage you to use your personal e-mail address to receive information from GSRA. If you don't have Internet service at home, we suggest you get a free Yahoo, Hotmail (Microsoft) account. Mail on these accounts can be checked from lots of places including public libraries. Even if your agency does not allow you to receive personal e-mails addressed to your State e-mail address, many State agencies will allow employees to check these personal accounts from their work computers.
